United Board Fellows ProgramThe United Board Fellows Program offers an opportunity for mid-level faculty and administrators selected for leadership positions by their home institutions to work with mentors in the United States and Asia over a two-year period. Fellows spend one semester in residence at a host university in Asia, and one semester at a host institution in the United States. In each host institution, with the assistance of a mentor, Fellows have opportunities to:
Twenty-eight faculty members and administrators from Asian universities have been selected as 2008-2010 United Board Fellows. New: Read Alumni Profiles of United Board Fellows Lilian Jasper (2006-2008), Nguyen Minh Tho Le (2004-2006), Esther Romarate (2002-2004) and Yang Qianhua (2008-2010). Fellows typically participate in two leadership seminars during the summers, mid-way through and at the end of the program. These seminars, held at universities in Asia, provide an opportunity for Fellows to meet each other and develop sustaining networks. They also provide a forum for discussion of issues related to leadership. Fellows are selected for their academic and teaching excellence as well as their leadership potential. They should be proficient in oral and written English. All scholars must be nominated by their home institutions. Qualified nominees are interviewed by United Board representatives and selected on a competitive basis.
