Eam Amara, a librarian at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, is currently a Regional Scholar at Miriam College in the Philippines.
“By participating in United Board program, I learned the difference between education in my country and in the Philippines. I learned how to live in a big world with other nations including how to develop relationships with other scholars. I also have the chance to broaden my knowledge in order to improve my country as well as to expand human resources by sharing what I have learned and experienced.
“I worked as a librarian for many years at Royal University of Phnom Penh. Since participating in the United Board program, I also have been given some teaching responsibilities at my university. Our library has just set up a new Educational Research Center and introduced a new course called ‘Statistics Using SPSS for Research.’ After completing my program at Miriam College, I will have new responsibilities in these two programs.
“I previously did not know much about some of the courses I've taken at Miriam, and I'm really grateful to the United Board for giving me a chance to broaden my knowledge here in the Philippines. I hope I could help share my experience and knowledge to help my home institution and Cambodian students, as some of them may have no chance to study in another country.” |
