postheadericon Faculty Scholarship Program

The United Board's Faculty Scholarship Program funds fellowships for faculty from smaller, developing colleges to receive advanced degrees at more established institutions within Asia. Currently, over 30 junior faculty members are receiving United Board support to obtain their MA and Ph.D. degrees at 10 host universities in Asia and Australia.  They join nearly 150 other scholars who have benefited from this program since its inception in 2001.

For scholarship recipients, the experience is career- and life-changing. For their schools, the knowledge and teaching methods that scholars bring back enrich their home institutions. Just as these scholars forge alliances among themselves, so do host and home institutions, further strengthening the United Board network and building the foundation upon which future academic exchange may take place.

Current host institutions include:

  • Artha Wacana Christian University, Indonesia
  • Assumption University, Thailand
  • Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines
  • Bond University, Australia
  • De La Salle University-Manila, Philippines
  • Ewha Womans University, Korea
  • Indonesian Consortium for Religious Studies, Indonesia
  • International Christian University, Japan
  • Payap University, Thailand
  • Silliman University, Philippines
